The fourteenth century Rocchetta

A visit to this section of the Gallery starts from the splendid rooms prepared at the behest of Maria Luigia at the beginning of the XIX century and restored to their neoclassical appearance thanks to the 1991 project which saw a re-interpretation of the former environment of the Ducal Gallery. In the spaces gathered in what is known as the “Rochetta” the Gallery pathway is dedicated to two great masters active in Parma in the first part of the XVI century, Antonio Allegri and Francesco Mazzola: here can be found masterpieces such as Correggio’s Madonna di San Girolamo and the Madonna della Scodella.
