Description

A wide range of educational offerings dedicated to the knowledge of the archaeological, historical-artistic and monumental heritage of the territory.

Also for the 2024-2025 school year , thanks to the commitment of Fondazione Cariparma , in collaboration with the Monumental Complex of Pilotta, the educational project “At school in museums: from prehistory to the modern age” returns, aimed at all schools of all levels in Parma and the Province, starting from nursery school. In particular, the commitment of Fondazione Cariparma, this year, will allow the project to be expanded and welcome a greater number of students from the area.

The entire project was anticipated by the educational paths dedicated to the exhibition Il Pinocchio d’artista by Mimmo Paladino. Tra disegni, parole e note set up at Palazzo Bossi Bacchi which will remain open until 22 December 2024. The exhibition takes inspiration from the 26 plates of the Libro d’Artista Il Pinocchio by Mimmo Paladino, belonging to the Mingardi collection of Fondazione Cariparma, alongside which are exhibited about forty editions of Collodi’s novel printed in Italy from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day and preserved in the Busseto Library of Fondazione Cariparma; the last part of the exhibition is dedicated to the robotic puppets of the Pinocchio all’opera project , conceived and promoted by the Fondazione Nazionale Carlo Collodi with Sinapsi Group: a series of wooden Pinocchios created by the artist Mauro Olivotto, aka “Lampo”, who represent all the characters that revolve around the world of opera: composers, singers, workers who work behind the scenes and all the maestros of the orchestra. Some of the sculptures, roboticized by the School of Robotics of Genoa, move and play arias from the most famous operas of the Verdi repertoire.

The proposal is also enriched with educational itineraries dedicated to the exhibitions present in Pilotta: Not just white paper – Special printing supports in four centuries of typography in the collections of the Palatina Library , which will remain open to the public from 16 November 2024 to 26 January 2025, curated by the Fondazione Museo Bodoniano, and The 15th and 16th century bindings of the Palatina Library , curated by the Palatina Library, available starting from 1 February 2025. Both exhibitions will be set up in the space of the Petitot Gallery of the Library.

The project “At School in Museums: from Prehistory to the Modern Age”, also proposes themes that are now consolidated in the world of school that, thanks to the constant collaboration of numerous museums in the city and the territory, want to bring young users closer to history, archaeology and art by immersing themselves in the heritage that surrounds them. A synergy, therefore, between school, territory and museum that is able to offer added value to the educational system and to the teaching program normally offered.

Palazzo Bossi Bocchi, the museums of the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta, the Glauco Lombardi Museum, the Diocesan Museum with the Cathedral and Baptistery, the Teatro Regio, the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography and, new this year, the Torrechiara Castle and the Archaeological Area of Veleia are confirmed as cultural places to host educational itineraries.

“A happy collaboration, that between Fondazione Cariparma and the Monumental Complex of Pilotta that this year is renewed in the name
of opening the world of art, history and knowledge to the little ones. Thanks to the experience, skills and above all the passion of the museum education operators and teachers involved, “A scuola nei musei” is today a proposal of proven value and quality for the schools of the territory and this is why we have decided to strengthen the entire project so that it can involve as many students as possible, of all ages and from all over the territory of Parma and its province. We strongly believe in the power of knowledge, learning and culture as means of promoting social inclusion and intellectual elevation, elements that cannot be missing in the educational path of today’s youth”. Said Franco Magnani, President of Fondazione Cariparma .

“It is a great pleasure for us, as the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta, to welcome young students to our institutes who, with enthusiasm and participation, will take part in the educational activities of A scuola nei musei. The educational vocation of the museum essentially becomes openness towards young people, with the desire to make them participate. The initiative, thanks to the fundamental support of the Cariparma Foundation, is expanding further this year, opening up to an even higher number of participants and confirming itself as one of the best examples of collaboration between schools, private individuals and the museum. The educational proposal also includes two other places of great value from this year, such as the Torrechiara Castle and the Archaeological Park and Antiquarium of Veleia, now part of the Pilotta museum system. It is nice to think that the new generations can also grow a little in our museums and it is always a source of pride”. Said Stefano L’Occaso, Director of the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta

Fondazione Cariparma financially supports the activity, with the aim of promoting maximum access and the right to knowledge. Artificio Società
Cooperativa takes care of the educational activity and manages the organizational secretariat.

The project “At school in museums” is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Anna Maria Bilzi, an esteemed teacher at high schools in Parma, who indicated Fondazione Cariparma as the beneficiary of her legacy so that the bequest she made would be used to promote cultural activities specifically aimed at young people.

Special thanks go to the museum directors and the representatives of the cultural institutions involved, for having made it possible to organize the visit itineraries and for the kind welcome reserved for the classes participating in the educational project.
