The exhibition of the work “DIALOGUE WITH BODONI. Lorenzo Marini’s New Diptych” has been extended until March 29, 2026.
For the occasion, the artist has updated one of the components of the original diptych: while both canvases initially moved along a vertical axis, they now alternate between horizontal and vertical, creating a different visual rhythm and a new interpretation of the dialogue between Bodoni’s typography and contemporary Type Art.
The work was donated by the artist and thus becomes part of the collections of the Pilotta Monumental Complex.
The artist’s work reflects on language and its transformations, combining 18th-century typographical rigour with contemporary experimental illustration.
From 23 December 2025 to 1 March 2026, Monumental Complex of the Pilotta presents Dialogo con Bodoni (Dialogue with Bodoni), Lorenzo Marini’s new work that connects the emotional, symbolic and chromatic expression of TypeArt with the classical canon of Giovan Battista Bodoni’s alphabet, one of the absolute fathers of modern typography and a central figure in the cultural history of the city.
Displayed at the entrance to the Bodoni Museum, the work is conceived as a diptych that offers a visual and conceptual comparison between past and future, between 18th-century typographic rigour and contemporary experimental illustration.
