The event

On Wednesday May, , 28the the Auditorium of the Complesso Monumentale della Pilotta will host the presentation of the book 365 Telegrammi 2025, edited by Stefano Bartezzaghi and published by Fondazione Arnoldo e Alberto Mondadori, the first volume of the new ‘365’ series launched in January this year.
A yearbook dedicated to telegrams, showing part of the history of twentieth-century Italian publishing through a privileged glance.
Stefano Bartezzaghi, has selected 365 telegrams, typescripts and manuscripts, capable of best representing a portion of the history of twentieth-century Italian publishing, for the sender or the addressee, for the subject or the historical moment, but also for the literary testimony they represent.
The telegrams – from various fonds held by the Fondazione Mondadori, such as the Arnoldo Mondadori Editore Historical Archive, the Il Saggiatore Historical Archive, the Alba de Céspedes Archive and the Gianni Brera Archive – reconstruct the professional and personal relationships born and woven by the publishing house and the constellation of personalities that made it up and orbited around it.
Telegrams have in the constraint of time and space their raison d’être, they involve a necessarily brief, rarefied writing, and for this very reason direct, rapid, purified by the rhetorical trappings to which letters often fall victim.

Stefano Bartezzaghi
He comes from a family of puzzlers – his father, Piero, was a famous cruciverbalist – and, as an author, he made his debut with a rebus in 1971. He collaborates with “la Repubblica” with columns on games and linguistics and has published numerous books on this subject with various publishing houses.

Fondazione Arnoldo e Alberto Mondadori (FAAM)
Established in the late 1970s with the aim of preserving and enhancing the memory of 20th century Italian publishing and its protagonists, starting with the personal and professional histories of the two editors and the publishing houses they founded, Mondadori and il Saggiatore. In over forty years, FAAM has progressively broadened its areas of activity: it promotes an intense editorial production to tell the culture and history of the book trade, it carries out projects for schools and training and popularisation initiatives (such as the Master in Publishing, in collaboration with the University of Milan and the Italian Publishers’ Association) and organises meetings, events and exhibitions.
