Also this year the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta adheres to M’illumino di meno 2025 – National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles, conceived and promoted by Rai Radio2 with the Caterpillar programme.
In 2005 the Caterpillar programme had the idea of inviting its listeners to switch off all non-essential lights as a gesture of care for the environment. Law no. 34 of 27 April 2022 (conversion into law, with amendments, of Decree-Law no. 17 of 1 March 2022) established by Parliament the National Day for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles, which is celebrated on 16 February, the day on which the Kyoto Protocol came into force, ‘in order to promote the culture of energy saving and resource conservation by reducing waste, implementing shared actions and spreading sustainable lifestyles’.
The 2025 edition is dedicated to energy waste in the fast fashion sector and virtuous alternatives that promote the reuse and valorisation of clothes.
On Sunday 16 February 2025 the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta will join the initiative by switching off Maurizio Nannucci’s light installation in Piazzale San Pietro Martire from 7.00 pm.
