From February 6th 2025, the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta will open its doors to a social inclusion project aimed at children of primary and secondary school with school difficulties, thanks to the agreement signed with LiberaMente-APS Association and Friends of the Pilotta Association and thanks to the collaboration with the Family Centre of the Municipality of Parma.
The initiative proposes a series of free visits and workshops to the Museums belonging to the Monumental Complex of the Pilotta (National Gallery, Archaeological Museum, Farnese Theatre, Bodoni Museum and Palatina Library) aimed at young students and conducted by voluteers of the Friends of the Pilotta Association, with moments of welcome and conviviality in the Cavallerizza Garden.
In particular, the project is aimed at young people with school difficulties, from families with economic and social hardships, for whom the visit to the Pilotta Monumental Complex will not only represent an ‘after-school cultural event’ but also an important opportunity for participation and social inclusion, in order to contrast school drop-out, to increase their sense of belonging to the area and encourage a more aware attendance by young people.
An activity that is part of the broader programme of ‘Family Laboratory’ and ‘Tasks Laboratory’ programme of the City of Parma managed by the LiberaMenteAPS Association, aimed at promoting the knowledge and valorisation of the Pilotta’s heritage and making the monumental complex an accessible space, so as to enhance the cultural growth and integration of fragile families, stimulating the construction of social relationship and implementing community cohesion and the building of intergenerational link, through opportunities for socialisation and intercultural exchange.
