The event

During the 2024/2025 academic year, the Philosophy Unit of the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Enterprises of the University of Parma , in collaboration with the  Palatina Library , the Amici della Pilotta Association  and the  Italian Philosophical Society, invites citizens to participate in the series of meetings PHILO-DIFFUSIONE – Philosophical itineraries for the city, five informative moments that will deal with themes of contemporary philosophy and the history of philosophy.

The meetings will be held between November 2024 and May 2025 and will feature scholars and guests from various European universities, known nationally and internationally for their high research profile .

The organizers have chosen guests and themes thinking that they could be of great interest to a wide audience and believing that their discussion will have a strong value not only of study but also of reflection and interpretation of the present. The collaboration between Unipr and Biblioteca Palatina will allow to combine the discussion of these philosophical themes with the viewing of some precious manuscripts and texts of the library’s book heritage , which will be exhibited during the meetings.

Following the dual aim of supporting the participation of the public and in particular of parents with young children, and at the same time of introducing younger citizens to the knowledge of the Pilotta complex, the philosophical meetings will be accompanied by some parallel activities designed for children by the Amici della Pilotta Association.
