Farnese Festival – II edition

Farnese Festival – II edition

2024-05-31T22:19:02+02:00

The II edition of the Farnese Festival is about to start: concerts and conferences taking place inside the Farnese Theatre from May 28th to June 9th 2024.

The Farnese Festival, the ancient music festival that offers concerts by some of the most prestigious ensembles in Italy in the unique Farnese Theatre, is back in its II edition from May 28th to June 9th 2024.
Farnese Festival is edited by Fabio Biondi, art director of Europa Galante and enjoys the support of the Monteparma Foundation, the contribution of the Amici della Pilotta Association and the patronage of the Municipality of Parma.
The Farnese Theatre was built by Duke Ranuccio I Faarnese inside the building known today as Pilotta Monumental Complex between 1617 and 1618. It is not only a baroque theater without equals but, with its moving scenes and its serlianas which anticipate the boxes of the “Italian style” theaters, it is also considered by experts to be the first modern theater in Western history.
This year, in addition to the contribution of very important artists and scientific experts in the music sector, the Festival offers two opportunities for in-depth analysis of baroque music and vocalism, with a conference and a day of studies.
